TheDanceClass: research genuine movements

Dance can generate a very democratic environment – everyone can come, try and enjoy! What is dance about? Just embodied confidence I guess…we are exposed, barefoot, totally exposed and nowhere to hide. As the most of you know, I previously worked as an art director, helping brands to find their way and communicate with the world.

I have realised  that most of the principles I followed in the past, remain just as relevant in teaching dance! My focus is finding the right communication between our body and the rest of the world. We commit to be nice, rather than be real. We need to commit to us: you commit to you!  We are the one we were waiting for, no else. What does this mean? 

We need our emotion flow, our relationship nourish us, commit to the food we like, we need to walk in the path where we can release our blockages (physical and emotions) and find who we are are. We are in charge of our bodies as much we can, basically no fear to move. No fear: to be ‘not good enough’, not beautiful , not in the right place, stop to feel that resistances and holding back,  and put energy in your body: release, explode, connect your emotions. Movement it doesn’t need to be ‘pretty’, it need to be useful and efficient for what you would like to reach.

In life changes are  inevitable, you change all the time but transformation is a choice, you need to become the creator of the change and you need imaginary and self-love to do so.  If we can communicate properly with our body and be honest and genuine, everything becomes easier: we can move better as a group, be relaxed and smile…. We are looking for shape and posture, well the answer is this is a journey ladies! You are walking in the path to organize your body in the changes… We learn how to express our shape and also we learn how to express our posture.  The first step is to break down our personal barriers : we stretch further than we imagine, we can do a choreography, we can progress and become more flexible, we can coordinate ourselves better and yes we can be more creative. We believe and trust that we are who we would like to be and we are not who the others expect we are. We do not need to be ballerina’s, dance is a free form of art and communication and what we can do at our age or older is we enjoy dance we enjoy to see the ‘human’ and less the dancer…The beauty of this will be in the exploration of different movements.  When our perspectives grows, we become more aware and we can tell more stories and be more expressive…..and find more ‘self’.
